Myers and Co Solicitors, based in Burslem, have handed over a cheque of £257.69, raised from their dress down Friday and charity events, to Staffordshire Wildlife Trust, which will allow the county’s largest nature conservation charity to run a nature inspired event in February.
Some of the money is being used towards purchasing equipment for the Trust’s ‘Wildfamilies Workshop: Nestbox Building’ event being held on Friday 23rd February at Westport Lake Visitor Centre.
The event, which takes place in February half-term, will see youngsters taking home their very own nestbox creations which will be made during the workshop with the help of their families and Trust staff. It also includes a guided walk around Westport Lake – giving families the chance to see some of the wildlife which lives on the site.
Managing Director of Myers and Co Solicitors, Stephen Myers, said: “My family walks along Westport Lake regularly, so we know of the great work Staffordshire Wildlife Trust do in our area.”
“We are very pleased to be able to donate this money to the charity and we hope everyone who attends the nestbox building workshop really enjoys the event.”
Alison Cross, Wildchild Officer for Staffordshire Wildlife Trust, said: “We are very grateful to Stephen and the team for thinking of us and donating this money.”
“It will allow us to buy the materials and equipment we need for the nestbox event to take place and for the event to run successfully.”
Admission for the event is £10 per child and is aimed at four years and over. To book a place, visit www.staffs-wildlife.org.uk/whats-on
