Myers & Co is an established firm of solicitors based in Stoke-on-Trent specialising in a wide range of commercial work for owner managed businesses and private client work. We are looking to recruit in the following departments:

Legal Cashier
Full or part-time hours considered

This position will suit someone who is looking to work as part of a busy firm. The successful candidate will have previous experience of working as a Legal Cashier with knowledge of the Solicitors’ Accounts Rules. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, demonstrate attention to detail with the ability to prioritise work load. Experience of working on Proclaim Accounts Software would be advantageous but not necessary as full training will be given.

Main duties include:

  • Daily banking and bank reconciliations
  • BACS and CHAPS payments
  • Process client payments
  • Monitor bank accounts for incoming client funds and bank transfers
  • Handling general queries from fee earners and auditors
  • Process inter account transfers
  • Process invoices (internal and purchase ledger) and check completion statements
  • Ensuring compliance with SAR, money laundering and VAT regulations
  • Credit Control
  • Producing management reports

Civil and Commercial Litigation Lawyer

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, ambitious and well organised. The candidate must be a good team player with the ability to provide excellent service standards to clients.

You will undertake quality work which includes disputes in the areas of contract, insolvency and property.

The role requires a candidate with at least 2 years’ experience in a litigation team handling their own caseload.

The salary is negotiable according to experience, and hours are also open for discussion.


Business Admin Apprentice

Myers & Co are seeking to recruit an Business Admin Apprentice to work on a variety of duties within all departments including:

  • photocopying,
  • client hospitality,
  • dealing with outgoing post (franking),
  • looking out Wills and Deeds,
  • stationery control; and
  • maintenance of stock levels.

Experience is not essential as full training will be given. Good communication skills, accurate numerical skills and a willingness to learn are essential.

The ideal candidate will have a high degree of initiative and motivation. The position requires that the individual can work with minimal supervision.

This is an immediate vacancy and we are looking to recruit as soon as practical.
