At Myers & Co Solicitors, we’re always proud to support our local community, and this May we had the privilege of doing just that by taking part in Free Wills Month with Douglas MacMillan Hospice.
As a long-time charity partner, Douglas MacMillan holds a special place in our hearts. This local charity, based in Stoke-on-Trent, provides support and care for individuals and their families facing limiting illnesses such as cancer. Their work touches countless lives, and we’re honoured to play a small part in helping them continue it.
Throughout May, our team offered free standard Wills to anyone taking part in the scheme. With a voucher from Douglas MacMillan, clients could have their Wills written at no cost, other than a small fee for ID checks. Participants were also encouraged to support the charity by leaving a gift in their Will or by making a donation.
It’s a simple idea with a powerful impact. In total, we created 15 free Wills during the month, with an estimated value of £4,050. Many of the gifts pledged in these Wills were incredibly generous, and we know they’ll make a real difference to Douglas MacMillan’s work in the months and years ahead.
